Fresh Orange Strawberry Sangria

Sarah Hollingshead8 Comments

Hey y'all! I have partnered with four amazing bloggers to host a progressive dinner! What is a progressive dinner? It's touring five different beautiful homes through their blogs and seeing their delicious foods and drinks that we hope you will recreate in your home. Five bloggers, five homes and five amazing courses! If you guys have had dessert with Jenni, now it's time to have drinks at our farmhouse! We live in East Tennessee, surrounded by acres and acres of farmland. Come inside, kick off your shoes. I am mixing up some delicious drinks just for you guys. We are having Fresh Orange Strawberry Sangria served chilled out on the front porch swing.

What you will need:

8 cups of fresh strawberries, trimmed and halved

1 750 Milliliter bottle white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio ( I used Kendall Johnson Sauvignon Blanc)

1 cup of sliced fresh strawberries

2 cups sparkling water, chilled

2-3 sliced oranges

2/3 cups of sugar

1/2 cup of water

How to make it:

1. To prepare syrup, in a large saucepan combine trimmed and halved strawberries, sugar, and water. Bring just to boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat. Cover and cool to room temperature.

2. Press mixture, a little at a time, through a mesh sieve; discard solids (you should have around 3 cups of syrup) In a 2 quart pitcher, stir together the syrup, wine, and sliced strawberries. Squeeze one to two oranges and stir again. Cover and chill up to 24 hours.

3. Before serving, stir in the sparkling water. Serve in glasses of orange slices. Enjoy!

I used mason jars and added sliced oranges to the sides. This sweet hand towel is from Anthropologie and the tray is from Target. Everything is sweeter on our swingbed by friend Hammmade Furniture! I added a vintage quilt to the swing. The beautiful pillows are from Jolie Marche.
